If you choose not to attend a certain leadership/ministry conference because of what some might think of you, you are living for man’s approval.
If you choose not to post a helpful article or quote online that you just read due to the name of the author and what others might think of you, you are living for man’s approval.
If you choose not to make ministry changes in your church due to what fellow brethren might think, you are living for man’s approval.
If you choose to sidestep certain topics in your preaching ministry, you are living for man’s approval.
If you choose to elevate preferences above convictions, you are living for man’s approval.
If you worry more about what your alma mater thinks than what the Almighty thinks, you are living for man’s approval.
If you are more concerned by how your children represent YOU rather than how they represent GOD, you are living for man’s approval.
If you only pray in public settings (when someone can see you), you are living for man’s approval.
If you only read your Bible in public settings (when someone can see you), you are living for man’s approval.
If you only sacrifice your time and effort in a public setting so as to garner praise, you are living for man’s approval.
If you perform a good deed with the thought that it will make a good sermon illustration, you are living for man’s approval.
If you only work hard when the boss is looking, you are living for man’s approval.
In closing…if you compliment every meal that your wife fixes you whether it is tasty or not, you are living for your wife’s approval and you are one smart man!

1 more entry should be added: if you are more concerned with what people think of your exterior rather than your interior, you are seeking God’s approval. As you seek God’s approval your internal is renewed/transformed which in turn transforms your exterior. Sadly took many years to realize this, but praise God for his grace and longsuffering.
